California Secretary of State Alex Padilla was in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday to present Cal Poly’s student government representatives with the Ballot Bowl trophy.

The California Ballot Bowl was a statewide competition encouraging colleges and universities to register the most students and have the highest percentage of students vote in the 2018 General Election.

Cal Poly beat the competition by registering 3,178 students to vote; 14.8 percent of the student body cast ballots in November.

In total, 30 campuses competed statewide, registering nearly 10,000 student voters.
