Paso Robles police are recommending vehicular manslaughter charges be filed against the driver involved in a deadly crash last week on Highway 46 at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles.
Police say a 77-year-old woman from Paso Robles pulled out in front of Barry Stephenson, 68, of Atascadero Friday afternoon, causing Stephenson to crash into the back of her SUV.
Stephenson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said drugs or alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.
The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office will review the case to determine if official charges will be filed.
