CHP responds to multiple crashes across Central Coast

Multiple crashes reported along Highway 101 across the Central Coast Friday morning.

At 7:45 a.m., a two-vehicle crash was reported in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at the 4th Street offramp in Pismo Beach.

Minutes later, a crash involving an SUV and big rig was reported in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at the Tefft Street offramp in Nipomo. An ambulance was requested at the scene.

In the Gaviota area, multiple crashes were reported there between 6:20 and 6:30 a.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a traffic collision occurred just north of the Gaviota rest area along southbound Highway 101. A different two-vehicle crash was also reported in the same area.

There were also reports of a two-vehicle crash just south of the Gaviota rest area along southbound Highway 101.

As of 7:45 a.m no major injuries had been reported for any of the Gaviota-area crashes.

Drivers are advised to stay clear of the area as crews remain on scene and CHP reminds drivers to slow down and be extra cautious when driving in the rain.
