A downtown San Luis Obispo favorite, Old San Luis BBQ, is opening up a second location off of Broad Street and Tank Farm Road.
The seven-year-old restaurant has expanded its original location a few times. They say they’ve out-grown their kitchen once again.
During the peak summer season, they’re often barbecuing 24-hours a day to meet the demand.
“Wednesday through Saturday, we just like started cooking and people were there until four in the morning. People come, put stuff in the oven, people come back at six and take it out. And we’re just going around the clock just to keep up,” said Matt Pearce, owner.
The new location will have a kitchen twice the size of their downtown location but with half of the seating.
They hope the new space will be enough to support both the catering and restaurant operations.
The second location is set to open in May.
