If you’re looking for love this Valentine’s Day, you might consider adopting a pet from Santa Barbara County Animal Services.
This week, the shelters are letting you name your own price.
The usual cost to adopt a pet is $110. The discounted adoption fees will be available from February 14-16.
All of the animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and have been checked out by a veterinarian.
“We want to make sure that a family is picking the right pet for their home and we want to find the right home for their pet,” said Jennifer Adame, Veterinarian Program Supervisor for Santa Barbara County Animal Services.
There are three shelters in Santa Barbara County, located at 548 W. Foster Rd. in Santa Maria, 1501 W. Central Ave. in Lompoc, and 5473 Overpass Rd. in Santa Barbara.
Later in the month, on February 26, the shelters will offer a $1 cat spay day.
