Nineteen Cal Poly students were recognized Monday at the California state capitol in Sacramento for their awards and accomplishments.

Each of the students has, as an individual or part of a team, received a national industry award or taken part in a high-profile event. Those events include the Tournament of Roses Parade, the National Concrete Canoe Competition, and the Walt Disney Imagineering Design Competition.

Four of the students are from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design; three are from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Services; six are from the College of Liberal Arts; five from the College of Engineering; and one from the College of Science and Mathematics.

The group was introduced to the Senate by Sen. Bill Monning and to the Assembly by Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham, who both represent San Luis Obispo County, and ceremonies were held in each chamber Monday afternoon.
