Cal Poly is looking to learn more about inclusivity by hiring a new social scientist to research the matter.
Damon Williams will conduct research on how the college can better integrate communities of color.
Williams hopes to receive an 80 percent response rate regarding the study, so he can evaluate everyone affected, including students, staff, faculty, and administration.
The study will begin in April. It was announced at a special campus event on Thursday.
It’s all part of the San Luis Obispo university’s Inclusive Excellence Action Plan adopted in 2009.
Williams is a nationally recognized consultant specializing in diversity, inclusion and leadership development. He visited Cal Poly last fall and earlier in January.
