The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce on Thursday unveiled its updated economic vision platform.

It’s called “Imagine SLO” and serves as a guide for the organization when it comes to decision-making, resource investment, and long-term strategic planning.

Chamber members say Imagine SLO is built upon seven pillars:

  1. We Before Me
  2. Doers + Dreamers
  3. Love of Place
  4. Empowering Innovation
  5. Environmental Stewardship
  6. Lifelong Learning
  7. Creating Connection

For the next six years, the Chamber hopes to drive San Luis Obispo to focus on improving housing and development, promoting small businesses, preserving natural spaces, promoting innovation, education, and encouraging community connection.

“We want this to represent what our community feels and needs to be successful in the future and this is really brought forward from the community,” said Clint Pearce, Chairman of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Chamber members spent 18 months working on the project.

A new website was also unveiled on Thursday.
