Emergency crews respond to fatal rollover crash in San Miguel

UPDATE (7:30 p.m.) – California Highway Patrol says a woman in her 60’s died after driving off a hill and crashing near Highway 101 southbound near the Mission St. on-ramp.

CHP says the woman was driving a silver Mercedes up a steep hill on a private dirt road that comes off near Cemetery Road in San Miguel. They say the woman drifted off the roadway and rolled over several times, landing on an embankment.

CHP says the women was ejected from the car and wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.


Emergency crews responded to a rollover crash along Highway 101 in San Miguel Thursday evening.

It happened southbound near the Mission St. onramp at about 5:30 p.m.

The vehicle involved reportedly overturned but ended up on its wheels well off the roadway.

No other details were immediately available. This is a developing story and will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
