More changes in the works at Dairy Creek Golf Course

Plans for some big changes at Dairy Creek Golf Course in San Luis Obispo are moving forward.

Back in May, the golf course transitioned from 18 holes to 9 holes and a practice facility due to a lack of water.

The next phase will bring in Toptracer Range, an interactive video golf experience.

Miniature golf and electric go-carts will also be added at El Chorro Regional Park.

Director of County Parks and Recreation Nick Franco says these family-friendly activities have a short return on investment and they’re unique to the community.

“Everybody can come and enjoy these facilities we just don’t have in this close area, we have to drive a couple of hours to get anywhere,” Franco said.

The Planning Commission will take a closer look at the plans during its meeting on Thursday.

There are still a number of steps to go.

The goal is to have the new additions ready for enjoyment this summer.
