Nathan George Rieger was arrested on Aug. 10 after arranging to meet with whom he believed to be a 15-year-old girl for sex. It was actually a sting operation set up by the Arroyo Grande Police Department. Rieger was taken into custody when he arrived at the set meeting place.

A San Luis Obispo County jury found him guilty in December.

Although Wednesday’s sentencing was postponed to Feb. 20, Rieger, who was out of custody prior to sentencing, was seen in court being handcuffed.

He faces up to four years in prison.

According to CBC, Rieger was a pastor at Winnipeg Centre Vineyard Church but has resigned from the position.
