According to the sheriff’s office, two businesses were hit on Jan. 10 and six office buildings were burglarized on Jan. 8.

Deputies say the burglar is targeting the locations early in the morning and sometimes drills out the lock in order to get inside.

Sheriff’s deputies say they got the first report that a business had been broken into at about 8:20 a.m. on Jan. 8 in the 2900 block of San Marcos Ave.

Once deputies inspected the business complex, they determined three other offices and two nearby businesses on the same block had been impacted. In total, deputies say four of the six businesses were burglarized.

The other string of burglaries happened Jan. 10. Deputies say they responded to an alarm call at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company in the 2300 block of Alamo Pintado Ave.

When deputies got there,  they say they found an open door but no forced entry.

An hour later, at 8 a.m., they were notified that another burglary happened in the same block at Sideways Hardware and Shoes – A Brother’s Restaurant.

According to a Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office press release, the person who burglarized the business forced the safe open and left with an unknown amount of money.

The sheriff’s office was able to recover surveillance video of the burglar from this location, which they say confirmed the burglar entered the establishment through a window and activated the alarm when he left.
