UPDATE: Broad Street was back open by 11:20 a.m.
ORIGINAL STORY: A portion of Broad Street in San Luis Obispo was closed Thursday morning due to a lateral water break.
The City of San Luis Obispo Utilities Department posted information on Facebook saying the closure affects both directions of Broad Street between Leff and Church streets.
Detours are in place and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
Crews are hoping to have repairs completed by 4:30 p.m.
