The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday released the autopsy results for the three people who were murdered at a home on Oakhill Rd. in Orcutt on Dec. 28, 2018.

Sheriff’s officials say David McNabb, 43, killed his sister, Nicole McNabb, 34, his mother, Melanie McNabb, 64, and family friend Carlos Echavarria, 63.

David McNabb was shot and killed by deputies after they entered the home. Sheriff’s officials say the deputies opened fire on McNabb when he pointed a rifle at them.

The autopsies on the three victims reportedly revealed that they died as a result of blunt force and sharp force trauma after being beaten and stabbed multiple times.

Sheriff’s officials say weapons recovered at the scene included a sledgehammer and several large kitchen knives.

They say a motive for the murders remains under investigation.
