Santa Maria police are investigating a traffic collision that sent one person to the hospital early Wednesday evening.
It happened in the 1400 block of South Broadway near the Foods Co shopping center.
Police say a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officers are asking people to avoid the area during their investigation.
