A home off N. Benwiley Ave. in Santa Maria is uninhabitable after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon.
When firefighters arrived, they say they found three five-gallon propane tanks on fire on the exterior of the home, adding exposure risks.
Firefighters say the front, single-story structure is a complete loss. A separate, two-story structure is connected to the home but only received minor smoke damage.
The number of people displaced is unknown at this time. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
