The Good Samaritan Shelter is giving kids in need some holiday cheer. They hosted a Christmas Party at Boomers in Santa Maria on Sunday, which was made possible by $2,000 worth in donations.

Donors helped them buy 50 tickets for all outside attractions and games at Boomers for four hours. The money also goes towards presents for the kids.

Bradley and Karlie Crawford say they organize the event to help kids have a happy Christmas.

“We wanted to try to do something special for the kids, for them to get out of the normal of everyday life,” said Bradley.

Planning for the event started in September. In total, 24 organizations, businesses, and donors contributed to make the event possible.
