The launch was originally planned to happen on Friday, December 7, but it was scrubbed due to an issue with a “redundant communication link between the control center and launch site.”
The next launch date for the Delta IV Heavy rocket was then set for Saturday, December 8. It was delayed for a few minutes before a hold was placed just three seconds before liftoff.
