A surfer is recovering in the hospital after nearly drowning at Morro Rock.
Harbor Patrol received reports a non-responsive man in the water at Morro Strand Beach around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
When emergency crews arrived, two off-duty ambulance personnel were already working to revive him.
The man was transported to a local hospital with a pulse.
It is unclear what caused the man to become unresponsive.
