Bank of the Sierra awards $18K in grants to local non-profits

Bank of the Sierra gave $18,000 total to seven local non-profits as a part of its Sierra Grant Program.

The bank awards $1,000 to $5,000 grants to 15-20 non-profits each quarter through the program.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates of San Luis Obispo County will use the grant to recruit, train and supervise volunteers that cater to the needs of abused children.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Port Hueneme and Greater Oxnard will focus the funding on education development, leadership, health skills, arts, sports, fitness and recreation.

The Transitional Food and Shelter plans to use the money to provide shelter and supportive casework to those in need.

Grants awarded to Lompoc Community Track and Field will be used to add upgrades to Huyck Stadium next to Lompoc High School.

Bank of the Sierra has provided $54,000 in non-profits through the Sierra Grant Program.
