Police investigating armed robbery at Chase bank in Paso Robles

Paso Robles police are investigating a robbery at the Chase bank on Niblick Road.

It happened at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday as the bank was closing.

According to police, bank employees said at least five men entered the bank armed with handguns and a rifle. They were dressed in black clothing and were wearing masks.

Police say the robbers demanded money from the bank employees and hit one employee in the eye with the rifle before fleeing the bank. It’s unknown how much money was taken.

The injured employee was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police cordoned off the area in front of the bank while officers investigated. Other businesses in the shopping center remained open.
