Allan Hancock College staff gave out Thanksgiving meals to students in need Tuesday in Santa Maria.
The community college handed out all of the fixings to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving feast to single-parent students through the CARE program.
Volunteers provided 75 students with all of the ingredients for the dinners, including a turkey, potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and whipped cream.
Students said they were grateful for the generous donations.
“I really appreciate the help for me and my family,” said student Erin Murray. “I can’t thank Allan Hancock enough for everything they’ve done for me and for my girls.”
The CARE program provides financial assistance and support for single-parent students at the college.
