$60k raised for Circle V Ranch Camp damaged by Whittier Fire during fundraiser

Posted

A local camp is on its way to reopening after being burned in a fire last summer.

The Whittier Fire forced Circle V Ranch Camp to close in 2017 after flames burned through the camp’s location in the Los Padres National Forest off Highway 154.

Since then, staff has been focused on raising money to get it back up and running again.

During this year’s Hike for Kids fundraiser, staff raised $30,000 to reopen the space. An anonymous donor matched that, bringing the total to $60,000.

The camp is working toward a grand reopening in 2019, but is still in need of donations to do so.
