The funeral arrangements for a Santa Barbara man killed in the Borderline shooting in Thousand Oaks have been set.

Mark “Marky” Meza, Jr., 20, was one of the 12 victims shot and killed in the mass shooting at a bar on November 7. Meza was a busboy at the Borderline Bar and Grill, and was an alum of the Carpinteria Unified School District, according to a statement from the district.

The McDermott-Crockett Mortuary published Meza’s obituary on its website. Meza’s family asked for privacy during this time as they grieve the loss of Meza.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Meza on Sunday, November 18, at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Fess Parker Resort in Santa Barbara. A private burial for family will follow after.

The family is asking for donations to the Mark (Marky) Meza, Jr. Foundation in lieu of flowers. The donations can be sent to Chase Bank at 1924 Cliff Drive in Santa Barbara.

A GoFundMe has been made in Meza’s honor and donations can be accepted at https://www.gofundme.com/honoring-mark-meza-jr.
