The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office has filed felony charges against the suspect in a shooting Saturday in Santa Maria.
Josue Anguiano, 25, is charged with attempted murder and special allegations that he inflicted great bodily injury and used a firearm.
The shooting was reported at about 1:45 p.m. in the 300 block of E. McCoy Ln. Police said Anguiano surrendered after officers arrived at the scene.
The victim reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Anguiano entered a not guilty plea in court on Tuesday. He’s due back in court on November 5. In the meantime, he’s being held at Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $2.5 million.
