Lompoc police say they’ve arrested 12 people and cited three others for trespassing in the Santa Ynez Riverbed since the closure of the homeless triage center on October 10.

The triage center was set up to assist the homeless community that had been evicted from the riverbed. It was open for one month.

Police say they’ve held several early morning trespassing enforcement operations since then, usually between the hours of 4 a.m. and noon.

The most recent operation reportedly occurred on October 30 and resulted in the arrests of four people found camping in the river.

Police say they are taking a zero-tolerance approach to camping in the riverbed.
