The California Highway Patrol says a 49-year-old woman from Arroyo Grande was killed Thursday night when she crashed her motorcycle in Nipomo.

It happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. near Nipomo Regional Park.

CHP says the motorcyclist was trying to turn left onto Osage St. from Camino Caballo when, for unknown reasons, she lost control and veered off the road.

The motorcycle went through bushes and hit a wooden fence and stone wall, according to officers, who say the rider was ejected into a tree.

She was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Her name has not yet been released.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the CHP’s San Luis Obispo area office at (805) 594-8700.
