More than 50 wounded veterans and their supporters are riding through the Central Coast this week for the 2018 UnitedHealthcare California Challenge.

The more than 400-mile bike ride down Highway 1 started in Santa Cruz and will end in Ventura.

By Tuesday afternoon, they’ll have arrived in San Simeon. On Wednesday morning, they’ll start cycling to Pismo Beach.

Thursday’s ride will take them to Solvang and on Friday, they’ll continue on to Ventura.

The ride raises money for Project Hope, a non-profit organization that helps wounded veterans and first responders who are affected by post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries, and other injuries.
