The California Highway Patrol has identified the teen motorcyclist killed in a crash Sunday on Highway 101 at El Campo Road near Arroyo Grande as Jordan Grant, 18.

Cal Poly says Grant was a first-year computer engineering student, reportedly from Plano, Texas.

Officers said Grant collided with a BMW after the driver reportedly made an unsafe left turn in front of the teen. Grant was pronounced dead at the scene.

A memorial is scheduled to take place Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Cal Poly’s University Union Plaza.

Counseling services are available to Cal Poly students and staff around-the-clock by calling (805) 756-2511.
