Allan Hancock College will offer three programs to earn bachelor’s degrees through a partnership with the University of La Verne.

The community college signed the initiative with La Verne on Monday to provide students with the opportunity to obtain a four-year degree at the Santa Maria campus. The majors offered within the program include public administration, business administration and organizational management.

“We hope the three initial opportunities are just the start of other bachelor degree programs that could be offered at Hancock,” said Allan Hancock College Associate Superintendent/Vice President, Academic Affairs Bob Curry, Ph.D. “We have many programs on campus that complement the offerings of University of La Verne. Over the next year, we’ll work to identify what might be possible in phase two.”

Students that plan to cross over into the La Verne partnership and have completed at least two semesters at Hancock are eligible to receive a 50 percent discount on the tuition.

The four-year degrees are available to current students enrolled in similar studies at the college, as well as alumni who want to earn their bachelor’s in those majors.

The bachelor’s degree programs will begin in January of 2019.
