Donations are needed for the upcoming Santa Barbara County Veterans Stand Down.
The Stand Down, to be held in Santa Maria this year on Saturday, Oct. 20, will offer hot food, showers, clothing, hygiene items, medical exams, social services, help with benefits, employment counseling, and other services to local veterans in need.
Organizers say the following items are needed:
- Towels
- Blankets
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Men’s and women’s t-shirts
- Underwear
- Shoes
- Baby diapers
- Small-sized shampoo
- Bar soap
- Clothes hangers
- Bottled water
- Large trash bags
The community can drop off donations on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Santa Maria Fairpark, Gate 5. Organizers say no used clothing is needed.
The Fairpark is located at 937 S. Thornburg Street in Santa Maria.
