UPDATE: Suspect in Santa Maria shooting dies of injuries

UPDATE (4:55 p.m.) - Santa Maria Police say the suspect in a shooting Monday night on W. Williams St. has died as a result of his injuries.

He has been identified as Ronald Enos, 56, of Santa Maria.

Because the victim is a juvenile, police are not releasing any identifying information at this time.

UPDATE (7:20 a.m.) - Santa Maria Police say a juvenile was shot around 10:35 p.m. Monday during a verbal altercation with an adult family member.

According to police, sometime during the altercation, the adult suspect shot the juvenile outside the home.

After shooting the juvenile, the adult turned the gun on his or herself.

Both people were transported to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

No names were released and the extent of the injuries is unknown.

(11:12 p.m.) - At least two people were shot late Monday night in Santa Maria, according to Santa Maria Fire.

The Santa Maria Police Department and Santa Maria Fire Department responded. Police are investigating.

The shooting happened on the 900 Block of W Williams Street around 10:30 p.m.

The condition of the two victims is unknown.

It is unclear whether any arrests have been made.

Authorities are asking people to avoid the area.
