Lightning sparked California Valley fire, investigators say

Investigators say lightning sparked a fire in California Valley this week that burned 835 acres.

The Belmont Fire broke out early Wednesday evening near Belmont Trail and was fully contained Friday morning, according to CAL FIRE SLO.

No structures were damaged and no injuries reported.

All crews have been released from the scene.
