The Women's March of Santa Maria Valley invited the community to Central Plaza Park Saturday to encourage voters to cast their ballots early.

Organizers say attendees could register to vote, check their voter registration status, and see where they can safely drop off their ballots.

One of the organizers, Pam Gates, says she feels hopeful seeing young community members register and get involved.

"This is their world, they need to lead us and I could tell you they're angry, they don't like what's happening. So I'm encouraged that they're being vocal and getting involved," Gates said.

Gates says the national Women's March organization called on all regional chapters to host events across the U.S. Saturday.
