The candidates in the race for State Assembly District 35 are already set for the November General Election, but the results of the March 3 Primary may give some insight into what to expect this fall.
Morro Bay City Council Member Dawn Addis is running against incumbent Assembly Member Jordan Cunningham.
Super Tuesday results as of 10:18 p.m. show Cunningham with 62.8% of the vote and Addis with 37.2%. Regardless of the results, since there were only two candidates, both will move on to the General Election.
Addis, a Democrat, is a co-founder of Women's March SLO. Cunningham, a Republican, was first elected to the State Assembly in 2016.
District 35 includes all of San Luis Obispo County and a portion of northern Santa Barbara County.
