With the presidential election approaching, local organizations are teaming up to get community members registered to vote.
Race Matters SLO, Women's March SLO, and Queer Crowd were among the several organizations who held the voter registration rally at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo Saturday evening.
Attendees had the opportunity to register or pre-register to vote and learn about local and state candidates and propositions.
Organizers encouraged attendees to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
"I think it's all about participation right now, you know. Vote, go out and vote, vote well. Don't do it without a thought because there's a lot riding on this election," said Reese Galido, member of Queer Crowd.
Galido says the rally was a non-partisan event and did not endorse any specific candidates or propositions.
