Headding takes lead in Morro Bay mayoral race

Two candidates are vying for the title of Mayor of Morro Bay.

In this election, incumbent John Headding was challenged by businessman John Weiss.

As of early Wednesday morning, Headding leads with 53% of the votes. Weiss trails with 47%.

Two city council seats are also up for grabs.

Laurel Barton and Robert "Red" Davis are in the lead, both with 28% of the votes.

Betty Winholtz follows with 23% and Richard E.T. Sadowski with 22%.
