LOS ANGELES (AP) - A string of U.S. House races in California remained undecided but Republicans were leading in several closely fought districts, even as President Donald Trump was trounced by Joe Biden in the state.

Long-suffering California Republicans have been hoping for a comeback this year in mostly suburban House districts the party lost to Democrats two years ago.

In Orange County, preliminary results showed Biden outpaced Trump by 10 points.

But Republican House candidates Michelle Steel and Young Kim were holding slim leads over Democratic Reps.

Harley Rouda and Gil Cisneros in the county. Former Republican Reps. Darrell Issa and David Valadao also were leading their races.

A large number of votes remained uncounted.
