UPDATE - The sheriff's office reports that Parson was arrested by San Luis Obispo police on Wednesday evening. A citizen reportedly saw him at a Starbucks, recognized him from the news and reported the sighting to police. Officers found Parson nearby a short time later and took him into custody.

As of Thursday morning, Parson was being held at the San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $50,000.

Richard Eugene Parson, 43, is the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Most Wanted Wednesday suspect this week.

Parson was recently identified by the Grover Beach Police Department as the suspect in a prowling investigation. Now, he is wanted on a felony arrest warrant for failing to update his sex offender registration.

Parson is described as 5'11″ tall and 229 pounds. His last known address is in San Luis Obispo.
