SLO County adds 92 new COVID-19 cases

San Luis Obispo County added 92 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county's total to 6,965 confirmed cases as of December 8.

Fourteen people are hospitalized, including three patients who are in the ICU. Another 898 people are recovering at home and health officials say 6,004 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 42 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 326
  • Cal Poly (campus residents) - 256
  • Grover Beach - 240
  • San Miguel - 226
  • Templeton - 205
  • Oceano - 199
  • Los Osos - 122
  • Morro Bay - 115
  • Pismo Beach - 107
  • Shandon - 65
  • Santa Margarita - 55
  • Cambria - 44
  • Creston - 35
  • Cayucos - 26
  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) - 24
  • Avila Beach - 13
  • San Simeon - 7

The location of 16 additional cases is under investigation, and another eight are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach, and Nipomo.
