Santa Barbara Co. reports 19 new COVID-19 cases, 1 additional death

Santa Barbara County is reporting the death of another person who tested positive for COVID-19.

Health officials say the patient was between the ages of 50 and 69, had underlying health conditions, and lived in Santa Maria.

The county also added 19 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 9,520 confirmed cases as of October 14.

Twenty-one people are hospitalized, including seven patients who are in the ICU.

Health officials say 9,273 people have recovered.

Santa Barbara County has had 117 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • Carpinteria and South County unincorporated areas (Montecito, Summerland) - 204
  • Santa Ynez Valley (Solvang, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Ballard) - 172

The location of an additional 371 cases is listed as "pending."

Three free coronavirus testing sites are available to the community in Santa Maria, Buellton, and Goleta.

A pop-up testing clinic will be open October 23-24 and November 6-7 in Isla Vista.
