A San Luis Obispo rehabilitation center is the latest facility to be impacted by the reduction in elective surgeries taking place at local hospitals.

San Luis Transitional Care on Bishop Street is closed for the time being.

The CEO of Compass Health, which owns the facility, says the closure is due to the "dramatic reduction" of elective surgeries and rehabilitation cases.

Most of the staff have reportedly been moved to other facilities.

Compass Health hopes to reopen the facility "one hospital census returns and community healthcare returns to pre COVID 19 levels."
