State Parks is working toward a plan to re-open the historic Hearst Castle to visitors once again.
The site in San Simeon has been closed to tours since March 16 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
State Parks says recent guidelines released regarding the re-opening of museums in the state would not include Hearst Castle, as the requirements could not be met.
Officials say they're still in a "holding pattern" for now and are in constant communication with state and county officials.
Less than a month into the stay-at-home order, State Parks estimated $844,00 in lost revenue at Hearst Castle alone.
