The city of Goleta has launched the #GoodLandGoodPeople photo campaign Saturday to promote positive images throughout the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members can share their photos along with a brief description to PIO@CityofGoleta.org for a chance to be featured on the city's social media accounts, according to the City of Goleta Government Facebook page. People can also view featured photos by searching the hashtag #GoodLandGoodPeople on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

"We are so lucky to live in such a supportive community filled with good people," the city's Facebook post read. "Everywhere you look there are people stepping up to help others and coming up with creative ways to stay positive, sane and entertained during this crisis."

City officials said they are looking for the following types of photos:

  • Creative or simple ways you and your family are working/schooling/playing/staying busy during the stay-at-home order
  • People in the Goleta community we can pay tribute to for helping others during this time, including medical professionals, grocery store workers, first responders and more
  • Uplifting images from the Goleta community that will make everyone smile

Mayor Paula Perotte said the Goleta community needs uplifting photos now more than ever.

"The #GoodLandGoodPeople photo campaign is an excellent way for us to celebrate all the good that is going on in our community during this most difficult chapter," said Perotte.
