Chumash Casino announces June reopening

The Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez plans to reopen at noon on Wednesday, June 10.

Casino officials say they will have strict safety measures and cleaning procedures in place. That includes reduced seating on the gaming floor, along with protective barriers between slot machines and at tables to separate dealers and players. The food court will also have fewer tables.

The casino closed at the end of the day on March 15 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Poker Room, Willows, The Cafe, The Buffet, and The Spa at the casino will reportedly remain closed for now, and there will be no bingo until further notice.

Casino officials say all employees will be trained on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols. They will also be required to wear masks and have their temperature taken before each shift.

Officials say casino guests will also have their temperature checked before entering the building and they will be required to wear a sticker showing that they were screened. They will also be required to wear masks.
