(7:04 a.m.) - An Atascadero skilled nursing facility employee has tested positive for COVID-19.
Compass Health CEO Darren Smith confirmed the information Wednesday night, saying the employee is a certified nursing assistant at Danish Care Center in Atascadero.
Smith says there have been no reports of any residents at the facility experiencing any COVID-19-like symptoms or irregularities.
The positive result comes a few weeks after two employees tested positive at Vineyard Hills Health Center in Templeton, which is also owned by Compass Health.
All 79 residents and 139 employees there were tested and there were no other reported cases, according to Smith.
He expects to release more information Thursday about the case at Danish Care Center.
To date, there have been no reports of any COVID-19 cases among residents at any skilled nursing facilities in San Luis Obispo County.
