Cal Fire crews are currently responding to the Crews Fire east of Gilroy in rural Santa Clara County.
The fire was first reported around 2:45 p.m. Sunday and by 6:57 p.m., Cal Fire says the fire has grown to 1000 acres, burning two structures and threatening others.
Additional evacuations of properties along Canada Road are underway.
The fire is burning in the direction of Highway 152.
NBC Bay Area reports the public is being asked to avoid the area near Crews Road east of Gilroy, which has since spread eastward to the Canada Road area.
Cal Fire says the fire is advancing at a moderate rate of spread.
