LOS ANGELES (AP) — The latest in a series of storms has left California mountains frosted in snow and made driving conditions hazardous.
Interstate 5 shut down Monday between Los Angeles and the San Joaquin Valley.
Wind, snow and ice also shut down State Route 58 through Tehachapi Pass. The arrival of storms marks a change in what had been a dry pattern, but the state is blanketed in numerous types of weather warnings.
Forecasters say an atmospheric river will arrive Tuesday and there's concern about possible debris flows from burn scars north and south of San Francisco Bay. Evacuation warnings are in effect for some burn areas.
