A 4.2-magnitude earthquake hit near Monterey County Saturday shortly after 8 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Officials said the epicenter of the earthquake was approximately 2.2 miles southeast of Aromas, nearly 12 miles west of Hollister and nearly 13 miles north of Salinas.
U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake had a depth of 7.9 kilometers.
There have been no reports of injuries so far.
