After recent break-ins and vandalisms, Lompoc Unified School District recently received two donations from Yardi Systems and the United Way, totaling nearly $100,000.

“This is great for LUSD students. These funds will be directed to support our students with distance learning,” said Superintendent Trevor McDonald. “After the recent break-ins and vandalism, our students can definitely benefit from these donations. The money will be used to obtain Chromebooks, internet service/hot spots, and other student needs related to distance learning. It is really heartwarming to see how our community comes together.”

Prior to the donations, LUSD had Chromebooks and other support materials on order and plans to distribute them to families as soon as they arrive.

Deputy Superintendent Bree Valla added, “We are very grateful to both Yardi Systems and the United Way for their willingness to support LUSD students. We cannot thank them enough for their generosity!”
